The annual children’s conference held by Church of the Highlands (called Summer Blast) provides a fun way for kids to interact with the church in the middle of the Summer when school is out. Every week COTH creates custom in-house content for their kids ministry, and Summer Blast is designed to launch the kids into another exciting year of ministry! In 2022, the creative decision was made to use Summer Blast Cinema as a time to tell a long-form story about characters that the kids were used to seeing every Sunday morning. By writing an original story, the goal was to engage the audience with something familiar while also telling a story of new adventures and new lessons from the Bible for them to take away. The very talented cast and crew that made this come to life was a dream for any director to work with!
